Vanderplass
E-Vibe
Hello everyone, I am selling my 2003 Vanderplass E-Vibe
I am the second owner, and know that the instrument was originally brought to the USA for a PASIC convention when Nico Vanderplass first started selling the e-vibe.
It comes in a soft case with wheels. I will be honest the case has seen better days, but the wheels roll and the zippers function. There is also a semi hard shell which covers the keys, is is cracked in a number of places, but still serves it's function.
I am not sure if the electricity is 110V only or 100-240... I can investigate for any European buyers.
This vibraphone has no resonators, it was designed to be amplified via the built in pickups, which run the through FX proessor and 6 way mixer. The mixer breaks the instrument into 6 zones each with its own volume control and panning. There is also a mini pot for each key to control the individual volume of keys (in case one sounds dead or too loud.
The instrument is a little scratched up, noting major, that effects the sound. I have included pictures of a couple dings on the side frame as well as a couple minor scratches on keys.
This instrument has fantastic locking wheels, rolls very smoothly, an aluminum frame and a silicon dampner.
It weighs approx 120 lbs, 55 KG
tuned to 440 Hrz
Unlike most vibes that have resonators for projection and fans that create a tremolo effect, the e-vibe has no resonators but instead has piezo pick-ups embedded in each bar. It has a Berhinger multi effects processor and 6 channel mixer. It is potentially midi capable.
It has Has blue anodized steel bars. Has a collapsible frame. The entire vibe breaks down and fits into a custom rolling case.
New this was selling for 9000 euros plus VAT or sales tax etc...
I am looking for $3500 US$ (or best offer) plus shipping costs. ( I can accept PayPal, but would ask we split the transaction fee) I priced shipping on UPS to the USA (from Canada) and it came to approx $340 for shipping, plus whatever amount yo want to insure it for. (I think it is around 2% of the declared value). If you are in Eastern Canada, we could arrange a pickup.
