MAKE ROOM - HENRY
This was filmed the night of "Beaujolais Nouveau 2010" November 18, while roaming Paris and performing our repertoire of Purcell's drinking songs to surprised and receptive audiences. The Beaujolais Nouveau celebration marks the end of the year's wine harvest. Roots of this festival, and grape harvest festivals worldwide, can be traced back to ancient Greece and to our friend Bacchus, aka, Dionysus.
Make Room, written by Henry Purcell, is an excerpt from the semi-opera Dioclesian, premiered in late May 1690 at the Queen's Theatre, Dorset Garden, England.
