Michael Emenau, (P.N.A. "MNO"), has worked professionally as a classical and jazz musician, composer, producer, and remixer for over 15 years throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.

MNO began his professional career in Canada as a classical musician after graduating from McGill University Bachelor of Classical Music Performance. Early in his 6 year spell playing in orchestras MNO crossed over to jazz.

This radical transition brought him to Asia. While living in Japan MNO honed his skills as a studio musician, playing and recording extensively in electro-jazz, dance and other electronic oriented music. His work can be found on over 50 CD's that he recorded as a studio/session mallet player for Sony Records, Japan. One notable recording includes MNO as the vibraphonist for the Japanese Acid jazz group "UFO" on "Red, Hot, and Cool". This CD sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Emenau was also a member of multiple ensembles covering a wide range of music including jazz, funk, Brazilian, Classical Japanese, Arabic, Indian and Caribbean that performed throughout Japan. The impact of his time spent in Asia, including extended time in India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Korea, can be heard in his compositions today.

During his 7 year residency in San Francisco California Emenau quickly established himself as a producer, session musician, and performer.  He produced, composed, was supporting founder and toured throughout the US and Canada with the following bands, including but not limited to:  Realistic Orchestra winner of California Music Awards "Best Jazz Group"; Middle-Eastern Electro band "LUMIN" named "Top 10 World Music CD 2004" by Amazon.com; and with his solo project/CD "MNO Sleep...Marimba Sessions", which was heard on various occasions on "Heart"s Of Space" weekly radio broadcast with 250,000 listeners, and Echo's 150,000 listeners. Michael also produced the following film scores while in SF: "Saving Grace"- Dir.Takashi Miike - Winner of best short film at the 1998 SF Film Festival; "Hysteria" -Dir. Anter Alli and Sylvi Alli; and "High Ambitions in the Himalaya" - Dir. Curt Dowdy. 

Today MNO continues his SF based work as an Electronic remixer for "6 Degrees Records" and "Rock River Music". His music has been placed in such retail environments as Banana Republic, The Gap, Old Navy, W Hotels, as well as, his remix of Charles Brown's "Merry X'mas Baby" that was the #1 music seasonal download on iTunes for the week of Dec.13 2004.

Presently Michael divides his time between the East Coast of the US and Paris France. he is a freelance vibraphonist, producer/remixer, and laptop musician. Currently MNO is a member of "Anatomic Dada" featuring a quartet of 2 laptops operated by various mallet and percussion midi controllers and 2 video manipulators ,VJ's creating real time improvised electronic music with visual representation.  Notable performances include a sold out performance at Couvent des Recollets, and the French Wrestling Federation where we fused real time Greco-Roman wrestling into our multi-media performance.

He is also working on a DVD release with Uruguayan pop star Pajero Casanni fusing traditional Guatemalan marimba music with other popular South American music styles.

Signed to San Francisco based World Music record label "Six Degree's Records" under the solo performance name "MNO", an EP5 of jazz/Latin/electronic (Sessions Des Rosiers) compositions was released in January 2007 as part of the "Emerging Artists" series. He has also been featured on 4 recent Six Degrees Records compilations.

"MNO Trio" signed a digital distribution deal in June of 2007 to manage all releases with "Believe Digital" based out of Paris, France.

Lumin signed in October of 2007 with Dakini Records (Tokyo, Japan) for the release of their 3rd CD entitled "Ketri"
